Howdy! I’m Brandon.

About Me:

I’m a writer and narrative designer with a background in poetry and tabletop RPGs.

I view stories as a form of teleportation; they ferry us into worlds built with magic and imagination where we explore and define ourselves.

My creative philosophy centers around developing settings, cultures, and characters that provide authenticity and tangibility to these imaginative worlds, while continually evaluating how these narrative elements can contextualize and elevate a player’s gameplay experience.

My goal as a writer and narrative designer is to work within teams that emphasize communication and collaboration across departments, in service of creating the next generation of virtual adventures.

Phew! With all the artsy, literature-y stuff out of the way, scroll down for a sneak peak at my portfolio, my interests, and testimonials. They’ll be spread out between some goofy bits I committed way too hard to (because if you can’t commit to a bit, what can you commit to?).

Here’s a picture of me so you know I’m real. Or a computer trying real hard to fool you. Dealer’s Choice.

Here’s a picture of the both of us.

Look at us! Ugh. We were so young.

Some of My Favorite Things

  • God of War

Hands down, my favorite franchise of all time. Honorable mentions: The Last of Us, Persona, Dragon Age, Uncharted, and Bioshock.

  • Pillars of Eternity

One of the greatest RPGs of all time, along with Divinity: Original Sin II, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, Dragon Age: Origins, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

I guess the lesson is: if your RPG has a colon in the title, it’s probably a banger.

  • Kingdom Hearts

Don’t ask me to explain how each game contributes to the main narrative, I ran out of expo markers last time.

  • Dungeons and Dragons

I’ve been a DM for over a decade, and I’m currently running two campaigns at once because I do not enjoy the many benefits of consistent sleep.

  • Haikyuu!!

This is better than Attack on Titan, change my mind. Spoilers, you can’t.

  • Les Mis

This soundtrack goes hard on road trips. Be careful who you give the aux cord to, because you may never get it back.

Testimonials

  • "Brandon is the triple-threat of kindness, optimism, and knowhow. His enthusiasm and curiosity energize a room, and his years of GMing shine through in the ways he shows up for his team and future players. He is constantly learning and refining his process, asking the right questions, adapting to the answers, and throwing the ladder down to uplift others."

  • "I play the magic card, 'Pot of Greed'! This allows me to draw two cards directly from my deck and place them in my hand."

    Weevil, Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 1

  • "Brandon made a delightful impression on me immediately. His work overflows with playful charm and wit, backed up by an informed, inventive instinct towards sheer fun. As a collaborator he is easygoing, generous, and articulate in his insight — I would jump at the chance to work with him again. And you should too; you don’t want to miss out on what’s sure to be a meteoric career."

I didn’t attend school here, the name just looks so good in this font.

If you read this far, thank you. Also, I hope one of my dumb jokes made you giggle more than you thought you would.
